ProloAustin is a proud sponsor of the Super Squadra road cycling team, Texas's top-ranked amateur racing club in 2009. The Super Squadra team is comprised of elite level cyclists, who are also career professionals or full time students. In 2010, Super Squadra will represent ProloAustin at bicycle races across the state while participating in the TXBRA monthly calendar. Pace Bend Road Race, February 21: This 80-mile road race is a spectator favorite. It's held on a hilly, six-mile loop around Pace Bend Park, along the shores of Lake Travis. Super Squadra returns to the Pace Bend Road Race as the defending champions in 2010.
Tour of Austin, September 4-6: Labor Day weekend draws cyclists from across the nation for three days of exciting racing, all within Austin’s city limits. The marquee event of the weekend takes place on Monday on the scenic grounds of the State Mental Hospital.
Driveway Thursday Night Series: This popular race takes place every Thursday on the Driveway racetrack just east of Hwy 183 on the banks of the Colorado River. Thanks to its lively, yet laid back atmosphere, the Driveway Series draws a mix of top professional cyclists and beginner bike racers. Visit drivewayseries.com for more information.
